Our dedicated team consists of passionate employees who are comitted to strengthening the connection between our alumni and the university. Together, we are working to create an active and inspring network through which current and former students can exchange ideas and learn from each other. 

Every team member brings unique skills and experience to the table, helping to bring a wide variety of projects and events to life. We look forward to developing the community together with you! 

Introducing the team

Alumni UniBE team leader

Sandra von Flüe

Sandra is the team leader of Alumni UniBE and has many years of experience, as well as a strong connection to the University of Bern. As a long-standing member of the team, she coordinates projects designed to promote an active and well-connected community.

She studied Business Administration with a specialisation in Marketing at the University of Bern, joining the Alumni UniBE after completing her Master’s degree. As an alumna, she feels a particularely close connection with the University of Bern. She enjoys playing an active role in shaping the network and connecting people and their stories. This enthusiasm for this task is also reflected in her open and friendly manner. This helps her foster a positive team atmosphere and embrace a culture of open communication.

Thanks to her structured and precise approach to her work, she plays a key role in ensuring that projects are implemented efficiently and effectively. She always maintains an overview of all the important details, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

Outside of her work, Sandra leads an active lifestyle. She cycles to the university every day, whatever the weather, and her passion for cycling is clear to see.  She has a wider range of interests, from jumping into the River Aare after work and having lunch break at Unisport to taking part in cultural events, and inspires others with her infectious enthusiasm.

Events and benefits

Ya-Jün Kräuchi

Ya-Jün has been a committed and valued employee at Alumni UniBE since 2019. In her role as event manager, she is responsible for the strategic annual planning of the Alumni events, organizes them with great care to ensure everything runs smoothly. She maintains an ongoing dialog with various partners to develop attractive benefits and successful collaborations. Thanks to her extensive network in Bern, she is able to hold Alumni events in inspiring locations and bring together people from different academic fields and areas of interest.

Ya-Jün holds master’s degrees in Economics and English Language and Literature from the University of Bern. She is also fluent in Chinese. 

She is an inspiring member of the team who encourages her colleagues to develop their talents, pursue their goals and persevere in difficult situations. Outside of work, she has a wide range of interests. Her passion for photography, dancing and travel reflects her open and creative personality. Thanks to her positive influence, expertise and friendly nature, Ya-Jün is a valuable colleague and a valued contact person within our team.

Communication and cooperations

Verena Dellenbusch

Originally from Germany, Verena is the driving force of our team and has established herself as a communications officer. After studying the Science of Religion and History in Bern, she decided to stay – and has been enriching the Alumni team with her enthusiasm and dedication since March 2022.

She is highly committed to maintaining our channels, organizing newsletters and stimulating exciting discussions within the community. She also coordinates our collaborations with partners and supports the team with various projects. Her open nature, perseverance and determination make her a valuable team player.

In her free time, Verena enjoys swimming, attending Unisport, and occasionally immersing herself in the past through live action role-playing. Her positive attitude, her relaxed approach and her joyful nature contribute to a pleasant and inspiring team atmosphere!

Assistant relationship management and Alumni UniBE

Stella Szabó

Stella supports the team in various areas, specializing in communication and social media. Thanks to her master’s degree in English and Social Anthropology, she possesses the ideal knowledge to strengthen our network and establish new priorities.

She brings creative ideas and linguistic finesse to communication and events. The Alumni UniBE team at the University of Bern appreciates not only her professionalism, but also her subtle humor and lively manner, which make everyone feel welcome.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring Bern’s culinary scene, discovering the city’s finest delicacies, and finding relaxation through yoga and pilates. Her energy and positive charisma make her an asset to our team.

Assistant relationship management and Alumni UniBE

Julia Pfister

Julia joined our Alumni UniBE team as an assistant in March 2022 and left in February 2025. Having studied Spanish and Germanic Languages and Literatures, she contributed her various skills to our work.

Her responsabiliteis included administrative tasks such as managing members, answering questions, keeping the community up to date with the latest information, writing the newsletter and organizing events.

In addition to her linguistic expertise, Julia provided  valuable insight into the needs and concerns of the students. This insight was particularly valuable for students, especially in the areas of communication and event planning.

In her free time, Julia enjoys sporting activities, especially dancing and snow sports. She is characterized by her friendly and open manner, both within the team and in her dealings with students. With her positive charisma and enthusiasm, she played a significant role in fostering a pleasant working atmosphere and was a valuable asset to our team.

Assistant and social media

Sophia Müller

Sophia joined our Alumni UniBE team as an assistant in March 2022 and left in August 2024. Thanks to herr positive attitude and cheerful nature, she stood out. As a result, she always kept everyone in good spirits and fostered a positive atmosphere within the team. She was a true all-rounder who brought a multitude of skills to the team: From managing member administration and the LinkedIn account to helping organize events, she approached all tasks with great dedication.

Sophia was a dynamic personality not only in a professional context, but also in her free time too. She enjoys keeping fit and regularly tries out different sports, making extensive use of the Unisport facilities. She is particularly loved Ticino and enjoyed spending her free time hiking in the mountains and exploring the picturesque region.

Sophia also impressed the team with her energy and wealth of ideas. Her open nature and her confidence in front of and behind the camera are particularly noteworthy. She occasionally appeared in videos produced by Alumni UniBE or the University of Bern. Her keen sense of style and her ability to inspire others with her positive attitude made her a real crowd pleaser and help foster a sense of community.
